Our Yard
Our Yard, the heart and soul of our racing stable. This is where champions are trained, and nurtured. We invite you to witness the resounding success of our racing stable, where the true stars, our horses in training, shine. While we won’t be exploring the intricacies of our operations, rest assured that it’s here in our yard where champions are made, and victories are celebrated.
With the yard situated on the edge of the NHRA offices, both horses and owners are treated to the best of what SA racing has to offer.
Despite not having many paddocks we are very fortunate to be able to use some fantastic studs which allow the horses to fully relax away from the racing environment. Our yard is run in a very professional manner and the horses are treated with expert attention. The horses love their time away at the farm and always come back in great health ready for the season ahead.
As well as being a beautiful area to train from Turffontein is very central to many races. With tracks such as Vaal within an hour, there are plenty of fantastic days racing on the doorstep. The farm is only 25 minutes from the yard minimising the time to and from races and opening a great access route to all of the racecourses around the country.
The yard has upwards of 100 boxes, split into 3 separate yards the original brick-built yards. There are three covered horsewalkers, a lunge pit, two vet boxes and a digital weighbridge to monitor the horses’ weight. A 2800 circular track allows horses to be exercised for more diverse groundwork and schooling.
