As the excitement of the spectacular Hollywoodbets Durban July begins to settle, we are thrilled to welcome BARBARESCO back home safely. We are proud of his performance, finishing 8th in the country’s most prestigious annual racing event. While the distance may have been a bit challenging for him at this stage in his career, we believe he will continue to excel in 1600m to 1800m races moving forward.

The excitement of Durban July day continued into Sunday, as racing followers were captivated by a new story unfolding at Turffontein Racecourse. MOUNT PINATUBO, owned by the Wernars and Stonebridge families, and bred by Mr L M F Wernars & Mayesh Chetty, claimed victory in Race 2 with Gavin Lerena in the saddle. But it was JOKER MAN who truly stole the show in Race 5 Pinnacle Stakes, extending his unbeaten streak to an astonishing five wins from eight starts. This time with Richard Fourie in the reigns, this son of Vercingetorix showed he’s ‘Too Legit To Quit’, cementing his status as one of the most exciting prospects in our yard.
