The highlight of the week most certainly goes to Barbaresco for placing 3rd in the prestigious DAILY NEWS 2000 (Grade 1) R2,000,000 race 7. He is surely going to seize a spot in this year’s Hollywoodbets Durban July. A meeting will be held next week with the owners and Lerena. The horse will have a week-off in the paddock to see how he settles down, and then we will have to make our decision. Currently, Barbaresco is set to race with 53 kilograms, having been given a 122 MR (gross) and 118 (nett) for Durban July. We will discuss with Lerena what weight he could possibly do for the horse.
